What Your Café Order Really Says About You

Every single thing you do, whether you like it or not, showcases a glimmer of your personality. And your café order is no different. Because while looks can be deceptive, caffeine is forever. 

Classic Black 

Your friends often find themselves wondering why you are spending all this money on what is really just coffee and hot water, and you give a sideways glance to their drink that has more sugar than coffee and more whipped cream than a banana split. Honestly, this coffee order connects more to your age than anything. 

If you are still in school and drink this, then I would love to read your poetry and see your book of art. If you are in university, congratulations on your degree, and I hope you do not graduate to an energy-drink addiction. If you are an adult, this is a side-effect of existing, or you just enjoy being better than everyone else, but at what cost?

Matcha 

You tend to stay on top of trends and believe in trying everything at least once, which is probably how you stumbled upon matcha. Your aesthetic is carefully curated and your vibe even more so. You definitely have very many Pinterest boards, and are more often than not seen clicking pictures of random aesthetic things as you walk down the street. 

That being said, if you are an OG matcha fan, I would define you as a lake hidden under a willow tree at moonlight. You are always seen with earphones on, with a glazed look in your eyes, in a world of your own, and are faced with the question, ‘Oh my God! That is so cool! Where did you get that?”  

Mocha

Often viewed as the child or grandparent of the group, you prioritise all things comfort over everything else and rightfully so. You have a playlist for everything, and tend to be more of a nostalgic person, often the historian of your group. You undeniably have a sweet tooth and believed in sweet treats before they became a thing. 

Latte

In the realm of lattes, there are many options, but any latte drinker who takes their caffeine intake seriously stays loyal to one and only one. And every variation is different. Someone who drinks hot lattes, is a classic coffee drinker, who either graduated from their black coffee phase or someone who just wants their coffee to do one thing, exist. You are also friends with a mocha drinker; those are just the rules. 

If you are an iced latte drinker, then I know for a fact that you have a designated table at your local coffee shop and are definitely the best of friends with a matcha drinker. You always suggest café hopping to your friends when making plans and are often seen swirling your drink with your glass straw (the one you do not leave your house without).

Iced Tea

It takes a lot of guts to walk into a coffee shop and ask for an iced tea, and you, while sunshine personified, are tougher than everyone on this list combined. You have an effortless charm to you, and definitely have a TBR (to be read) list longer than the rom-coms you have watched. Your accessories, like your drinks, are colourful, and with that smirk on your face, and lively behaviour, I would not be surprised if your go-to drink at the bar was just your cafe order with a blend of liquor. 

Frappucino

You love annoying your friends (that is your love language), and often judge their drinks, questioning where the flavour comes from. Your order is nearly as chaotic as you are, and rightfully so. You like experimenting with your drinks, adjusting the shots of espresso and the pumps of whatever you have decided to dabble in this week. Your phone is full of pictures of your loved ones and deadlines (your schedule is always chaotic), and you have been known to sleep through multiple alarms. 

So, the next time you are in a cafe, glance between the menu and customers, and create your own guessing game.
