Airport dining in India just had its watershed moment, and it smells like sizzling patties, charred buns, and the unmistakable swagger of Gordon Ramsay. The Michelin-starred chef who shook up fine dining worldwide isn’t stepping in with white tablecloths and silverware, but with something way more daring: a burger joint.
But of course, this isn’t just any burger joint. This is Gordon Ramsay Street Burger, the globally loved concept that’s part street spirit, part chef-led precision, and now, part of Delhi’s dynamic foodscape.
Street Burger was born in late 2020 — the year the world cautiously began emerging from the shadow of the pandemic. While many hit pause, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global hit the accelerator, opening the first spot in St Paul’s, London. In just 18 months, the brand zoomed to 10 locations, winning fans with its “Full Throttle, Full Flavour” mantra. It’s an attitude as much as a taste promise: unfiltered, inclusive, and playful. Serious about quality, but never taking itself too seriously.
Now, that spirit has landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 1 – one of South Asia’s busiest travel hubs – in partnership with Travel Food Services Limited (TFS), India’s largest F&B operator in the travel sector.
India was always on the radar. With its growing passion for global flavours and a rising demand for quality, chef-driven experiences, the country proved a perfect match. Delhi made for the natural debut – a city as bold, diverse, and constantly on the move as the Street Burger ethos itself.
Burgers At Take-Off Speed
Step into the 60-seater space and the design cues hit you immediately: a contemporary, streetwise palette, expressive wall graphics nodding to Delhi’s icons – Qutub Minar, India Gate, rickshaws – the kind of energy that makes you forget you’re in an airport at all.
Every detail, from the burger display counters to the seating zones, is optimised for the pace of travel, but there’s no sterile, utilitarian feel here. Street Burger at T1 hums with a modern, global vibe that feels just as fitting in London or Doha as it does in Delhi.
Travellers can indulge in globally adored signatures like the GFC (Gordon’s Fried Chicken) Burger, the Hell’s Kitchen Burger, the O.G.R, and the cheekily named #BAE Burger.

Among these tempting options, we savoured the Mumbo Burger — an artful combination of succulent GFC chicken, Mumbo slaw (a slaw with red cabbage, green cabbage, and jalapeños), and luscious Mumbo sauce (sweet and sour sauce with a base of kimchi). Topped with smoked applewood cheese and nestled within a soft potato brioche bun, it strikes a perfect balance of flavours and textures
But the true star was the GFC Burger – offering a satisfying crunch from its crispy chicken and hash brown, complemented by the fresh crispness of iceberg lettuce. The smoky applewood cheese and tangy GFC sauce add rich, savoury, and subtly smoky layers that linger deliciously with every bite.
India on the menu
Yet, the menu’s charm doesn’t end there. It impressively brings bold, vibrant Indian flavours to the forefront, adding a fresh dimension to the classic burger format.
Take the Tandoori Paneer Burger, for instance. It delivers a smoky warmth that perfectly balances the gentle heat of spices, while the creamy Greek yoghurt and tangy curry mayonnaise introduce layers of cooling richness and zest, creating a harmonious blend of heat and refreshment in every mouthful.
Meanwhile, the Butternut Bhaji Burger surprises with its sweet, fruity mango chutney that dances alongside fresh, crisp lollo lettuce, all lifted by the bright, refreshing burst of coriander mint yoghurt.
These aren’t token vegetarian options; they are full-bodied, richly layered contenders that hold their own against the global stars. The ingredient story strikes a clever balance: fresh, locally sourced produce from India blends seamlessly with select iconic imports, preserving the authentic Street Burger flavour that fans crave.
This thoughtful approach ensures every bite delivers the global quality and taste that Gordon Ramsay’s brand promises, while celebrating India’s rich culinary resources.
The indulgence continues with sides like the crispy, flavorful GFC Wings and Vegan Bites – crunchy soya nuggets with a punch of plant-based goodness. Desserts finish the meal on a high note, from the rich sticky toffee pudding – a nod to Ramsay’s British roots – to the comforting Oreo milkshakes that bring pure travel-day happiness.
There will also be an alco-bev menu in the future, expanding the Street Burger experience beyond food.
The Bigger Picture
For TFS, holding the exclusive license to operate Gordon Ramsay Street Burger in India is more than a business coup – it’s a clear signal about the future of travel dining in the country. With over 425 travel quick service restaurant (QSR) outlets and more than 35 airport lounges across India, the company has an unparalleled understanding of traveller preferences at scale, making this partnership with Ramsay a natural fit.
This collaboration is part of a long-term strategy: after Delhi, Street Pizza is slated to launch in Mumbai, with more restaurants across key travel hubs in the next three years.
Ultimately, Street Burger’s arrival isn’t just about adding another global name to India’s F&B scene; it’s about shifting expectations. It shows that a burger grabbed before a flight can be just as memorable as a dish savoured in a city restaurant. For Indian travellers, it’s a delicious revelation that ‘fast’ can also mean ‘crafted,’ and that a layover can taste a lot like London.
If the goal was to make people walk away saying wow, Street Burger has nailed its landing.
