One8 Commune has landed in Lower Parel, and it’s not just an extension of the popular chain; it’s a whole new vibe. Co-owned by Virat Kohli, Vartik Tihara, Anshul Goel, and Ankit Tayal, this outpost is all about refined indulgence, immersive design, and soulful food that lingers in both memory and flavour.

The Space

Designed by Aayushi Malik, the 3,800 sq. ft space is wrapped in deep hues, veined marble, aged brass, and velvet. In contrast to the Juhu outpost, which has an outdoor section with natural light, at the Worli restaurant, the space comes alive with warm glows and intentional shadows. From the central bar to the velvet-drenched cigar and cocktail lounge, every detail is elegant and has a vibe that shifts effortlessly from day to night.

Comforting Food & Cocktails That Lead Conversations

The menu, curated with Kohli’s preferences in mind, blends Indian soul with global flavours. The must-try signatures include Crispy Podi Okra, Kasundi Charred Chicken, Crab Sukkah, Gochujang Wontons, Nadru Kakori Kebab, Butter Chicken Bombolini, Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Recheado Prawns, and Thecha Fish Roulade. And of course, ‘Virat’s Favourites’ make an appearance on the menu with dishes from Mango Curry to Super Food Salads.

Kohli highly recommends the desserts; so don’t skip the XO Chocolate Truffle, Earl Grey & Vanilla Swiss Roulade, and Cherry Shot Cake. And the beverage programme curated by Countertop is a highlight—technically sharp yet unpretentious, with drinks that reflect both the space’s versatility and the evolving taste of its patrons.

So, what’s more to know about One8 Commune Worli? Hear it from the man of the match himself. Excerpts below…

ELLE Gourmet: You’ve launched One8 Commune in Lower Parel. What can people expect?

Virat Kohli (VK): Lower Parel feels like the right next step for us. It’s fast, it’s intense, and we wanted to build something that lets people hit pause, without slowing them down. You can expect a space that’s layered, moody, and made for the city.

ELLE Gourmet: What’s new or unique about the Lower Parel outlet compared to your other One8 Commune locations?

VK: This one’s more intimate. It’s moodier, more textured. We’ve added a tucked-away cocktail room, which I’m especially excited about. It’s got its own vibe, calm, confident, a little more grown-up. And the food has evolved, too. Same foundation, but the approach here is sharper. More thought in the details.

ELLE Gourmet: What's one dish from the One8 Commune menu you could eat every day and not get bored?

VK: The avocado tartare, without a doubt.

ELLE Gourmet: How do you balance your love for food with your fitness-driven lifestyle, and does that influence the menu at One8 Commune?

VK: Always. Food and fitness don’t need to be at odds. For me, it’s about being conscious, not restrictive. That’s why the menu has both ends of the spectrum, comfort food done well, and clean plates with real flavour.

ELLE Gourmet: What kind of experience do you want people to walk away with when they dine at the Lower Parel restaurant?

VK: A space you come back to, not just visit. It should feel familiar, easy, and over time, become part of your ritual.

ELLE Gourmet: Do you plan to expand One8 Commune internationally?

VK: Right now, we’re focused on growing deeper in India, making sure each space is thoughtfully built. But if the timing and the city feel right, we’ll show up.

As Kohli puts it, One8 Commune in Worli isn’t just about dining; it’s about creating a connection. It’s a space for you to slow down and unwind. Whether you're there for a quiet evening cocktail or a spirited dinner with friends, this newest outpost promises to be more than just a pitstop—it could be your next favourite ritual.
