These Five Supper Clubs In Mumbai Are Offering A Shot At Connection And Community

From vegan feasts to soulful Singaporean meals, these intimate gatherings offer more than just good food.

Supperclub

There’s something deeply nourishing about community. No matter where we come from, we all crave connection, and what better place to find it than around a shared table, with a meal that sparks both appetite and conversation?

In Mumbai, supper clubs have been quietly redefining the way we dine. What began as word-of-mouth gatherings hosted by passionate home chefs, food entrepreneurs, and hospitality insiders has blossomed into a thriving underground dining culture. These invitation-only experiences typically revolve around thoughtfully curated multi-course menus, storytelling, and communal seating, whether it’s a regional Indian thali or an inventive global tasting menu.

As a child, I used to host rooftop lunches with friends from my apartment building. Each of us brought a dish from home. It was a potluck in name, but in spirit, it had all the hallmarks of a supper club: it was intimate (we were just four kids), exclusive (parents strictly not allowed), and pure joy.

Years later, that same sense of joy and curiosity still returns every time I sit at a table with strangers, brought together by a shared love of food. That’s the magic of supper clubs, they aren’t just meals, they’re memory-makers.

Today, these gatherings are gently flourishing in a city known for its hustle. Supper clubs offer a rare pause, an invitation to slow down, connect, and be present. They’re led more by passion than by pretence. Whether you make a new friend, hear a great story, or simply have a full belly, you’re sure to walk away with something. If you're craving new flavours and fresh connections, here are five supper clubs in Mumbai where strangers become friends over thalis, teas, and tasting menus.

1. House of Málà

In Khar’s busy food scene, sisters Prachi and Saloni Gupta are bringing the sizzling fire of Sichuan cuisine to Mumbai’s dining playground. House of Málà is mainly a vegetarian supper club centred on the region’s signature má (numbing) and là (spicy) flavour profile. Guests can expect five thoughtfully plated courses layered with umami, authentic Sichuan flavours, and heat.

Helmed by Singaporean diplomat and art patron Renjie Wong, this salon-style supper club is as much about conversation, art, and identity as it is about food. If you’re looking for something beyond chilli crab, you can count on Renjie to introduce you to new flavours.
